Job summary

The role involves overseeing and leading operations across multiple data centres in the UK and Europe, ensuring consistent service delivery and driving continuous improvement. The Operations Manager will manage day-to-day operations, lead cross-functional teams, and influence the direction of data centre services.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing global technical teams in server deployments and operational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams in planning and executing data centre operations initiatives.
  • Develop and manage project plans, including scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Oversee resource allocation and optimise utilisation for efficiency.
  • Establish quality control measures to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and present status reports and performance metrics.
  • Lead post-project reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.
  • Solid understanding of service management principles such as ITIL.

Education

  • Relevant experience in data centre operations and server deployment programmes is desirable.

Tools

  • Familiarity with automation tools for workflow streamlining is beneficial.
