Student Data Engineer

Job summary

This role offers a hands-on opportunity for a motivated student interested in data engineering and analytics. You will support the development and maintenance of internal data foundations, ensuring data is structured and accessible for analysis and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in SQL for querying, transforming, and validating data
• Experience with Power BI or similar analytics tools
• Basic understanding of ETL/ELT processes
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts, such as star schemas and fact/dimension tables
• Basic experience with Python for data ingestion and processing
• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies quickly

Responsibilities

• Transform and prepare data for analytics and reporting using SQL and Python
• Help develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines
• Contribute to data modeling and structuring of datasets
• Collaborate with colleagues to understand data needs and ensure quality

Skills

• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or Snowflake is a plus
• Knowledge of data orchestration tools like Azure Data Factory, Fabric Pipelines, Airflow, or dbt is advantageous
• Experience with Git or version control tools is beneficial
• Basic understanding of APIs, JSON, and data integration is a plus

• Currently pursuing a degree in a relevant field
