Staff Analytics Engineer

Job summary

This role involves designing and delivering scalable data models and products within a data warehouse environment, focusing on enhancing decision-making across various business functions. The position is a senior individual contributor role with potential for future team management.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of experience in analytics engineering, particularly in designing and scaling complex data models.
• Strong technical expertise combined with business acumen and communication skills.
• Proficiency in dimensional modeling (star schema) and medallion architecture.
• Strong coding skills in SQL and familiarity with DBT and orchestration tools.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses, preferably BigQuery, and semantic layers like MetricFlow or LookML.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enhancement of the Data Warehouse and BI solutions.
• Own the Analytics Engineering strategy, including architectural decisions and modeling standards.
• Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and backend engineers to create analysis-ready datasets.
• Implement software engineering best practices across the analytics codebase.
• Evaluate and deploy tools to improve data quality and governance.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to design and scale the semantic layer for self-service analytics.
• Mentor team members and contribute to knowledge sharing and capability building.
