Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

This is a freelance, fully remote position for a Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer, focusing on specialized data scraping workflows within a hybrid AI and human system. The role involves collaborating with Tendem Agents to ensure accurate and actionable data extraction and processing.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields is preferred.
• Strong technical foundation with practical experience in scripting, automation, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Proficiency in Python web scraping tools (BeautifulSoup, Selenium) and handling dynamic content.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and containerization (Docker).
• English proficiency at upper-intermediate level (B2) or above.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end data extraction workflows across complex websites, ensuring accuracy and reliability of structured datasets.
• Utilize internal tools (Apify, OpenRouter) and custom workflows for efficient data collection and validation.
• Adapt scraping techniques for dynamic web sources and enforce data quality standards.
• Scale scraping operations for large datasets and maintain stability against site structure changes.

Skills

• Strong experience in Python web scraping and data extraction from complex structures.
• Background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation.
• Ability to handle anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.
• Self-directed work ethic with troubleshooting skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant technical field is a plus.

Tools

• Familiarity with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter) is advantageous. Experience with GitHub is a plus.
