About the role

Job summary

Responsible for overseeing the pre-construction, construction, commissioning, and close-out phases of a state-of-the-art data center project, focusing on mechanical systems and engineering. This role requires a full-time on-site presence to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical project management on construction sites, particularly with data center projects.
  • Proven experience in managing large mechanical systems installations and commissioning processes.
  • Expertise in mechanical systems used in data centers, including HVAC, cooling, fire suppression, and energy management systems.
  • Experience in Owner’s Representation and direct collaboration with clients and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical pre-construction activities, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage mechanical construction activities, overseeing installations of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety protocols, and design intent throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supervise mechanical subcontractors and vendors, conducting inspections and ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Oversee the commissioning process of mechanical systems, ensuring operational performance and accurate documentation.
  • Act as the primary contact for mechanical-related issues between the client and construction team, managing risks and providing recommendations.
  • Monitor project progress against budget and schedule, addressing cost overruns and scope changes efficiently.
