Senior Financial Accountant (Europe)

Job summary

The role involves supporting financial operations across multiple European countries, focusing on high-quality financial reporting and compliance. The Senior Financial Accountant will work closely with the European Financial Controller and take ownership of financial processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred
• 5–8 years of experience in financial accounting, audit, or controlling
• Experience in a multinational environment across multiple European entities
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and European GAAP frameworks

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across various entities
• Prepare structured financial reports for Group Finance
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and tax regulations, proactively identifying issues
• Manage daily interactions with the Shared Service Centre (AP, AR, intercompany, reconciliations)
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to corporate policies
• Support the forecasting process and deliver revenue, margin, and variance analysis
• Act as the primary operational contact for Sales and Operations teams and coordinate audit fieldwork

Skills

• Proven ability to manage end-to-end financial processes independently
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with systems such as SAP or NetSuite
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Italian or Spanish is a plus
