Senior Director, Accounting & Controlling (Remote)

Job summary

This role involves leading and transforming a global Accounting function within a technology-driven environment, overseeing the full accounting ecosystem across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Over 6 years of experience in leading Accounting, Controlling, or Finance operations teams in complex, multi-entity global environments.
• Strong technical accounting background with expertise in revenue transactions, commissions, equity, payroll, and intercompany structures.
• Experience in high-growth software, SaaS, or technology companies with recurring revenue models.
• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACA, or ACCA is preferred.
• Familiarity with IFRS reporting and exposure to audits, fundraising, M&A transactions, or IPO readiness is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the global Accounting function, managing month-end close, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance.
• Ensure timely financial reporting under applicable standards while maintaining audit readiness.
• Build and scale a global accounting operating model, including payroll and treasury operations.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex areas and partner with teams to develop practical solutions.
• Hire and develop a high-performing distributed accounting team, fostering accountability and growth.
• Drive finance transformation by identifying automation opportunities and improving workflows.
• Strengthen the control environment with a focus on SOX readiness and support strategic initiatives.

Skills

• Strong understanding of global payroll, treasury operations, and multi-jurisdiction financial processes.
• Interest in automation and modern finance technologies, with experience in systems optimization.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and act as a strategic partner.

Education

• Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACA, or ACCA is strongly preferred.

Tools

• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms is preferred.
