Senior Data Security Engineer (Copenhagen)

Job summary

This role involves designing and implementing advanced data protection controls within a financial institution, focusing on Microsoft Purview and insider risk solutions. The position requires translating complex regulatory and data risk requirements into effective technical controls to safeguard sensitive information.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in data security or information security engineering
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview (DLP, labelling, Insider Risk)
• Strong understanding of data protection risks and insider threats
• Experience in regulated environments, preferably in financial services
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, and enterprise security tools
• Experience with automation or scripting (e.g., PowerShell, APIs) is a plus
• Relevant certifications such as SC-400 are preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data protection controls across Microsoft Purview
• Translate data security risks and regulatory requirements into technical solutions
• Lead the rollout and optimization of Insider Risk Management tools
• Drive data discovery, classification, and visibility across data environments
• Monitor and improve the effectiveness of data protection policies
• Collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate data risks and strengthen governance

Education

• Relevant certifications and experience in data security or information security engineering are essential.
