Job summary

An experienced Senior Data Engineer / Databricks Developer is sought to design and implement a scalable Data Quality Monitoring capability using Databricks. The role emphasizes strong technical ownership and collaboration with both technical and business stakeholders to enhance data quality in critical business domains.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a Databricks-native Data Quality Monitoring framework.
  • Configure and implement DQX-based data quality rules.
  • Develop data pipelines and models for monitoring and reporting.
  • Create dashboards and trending views for business users and data owners.
  • Link data quality rules, data usage, and critical data points.
  • Document technical design, rule logic, and operating model.
  • Support the scaling of the solution to additional data domains.
  • Collaborate closely with data owners, business users, and technical stakeholders.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks.
  • Proficient in Spark, SQL, Delta Lake, and Python.
  • Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines / ETL-ELT.
  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks, preferably DQX.
  • Understanding of data governance and rule-based data quality monitoring.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Experience in complex enterprise environments.
  • Capability to work independently and take end-to-end ownership.
  • Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments.
  • Knowledge of clinical operations, trial operations, or life sciences data.
  • Familiarity with business-facing dashboards and data quality reporting.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps / CI-CD.
  • Understanding of integrations, APIs, or downstream system connectivity.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake and Veeva or related clinical systems.
