Senior Compliance Officer

Job summary

The Senior Compliance Officer will be part of the Compliance Advisory Team, acting as a second line of defense in regulatory compliance within the financial services sector. This position is based in Ballerup, Copenhagen.

Qualifications

• Relevant M.Sc. degree in Law.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, regulatory advisory, risk management, or a similar control function.
• Experience in regulated financial institutions, payment institutions, fintech, or financial supervisory authorities.
• Strong understanding of European financial services regulation.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Provide regulatory compliance advice and recommendations to executive management and stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and identify regulatory gaps.
• Monitor local regulatory requirements and promote compliance with laws and internal policies.
• Strengthen governance and compliance practices across the organization.
• Report compliance activities to senior management and the Board of Directors.

Skills

• General compliance expertise with knowledge of financial services regulations such as PSD2/PSD3, DORA, and AML.
• Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and assess business impact.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, independent, and solutions-oriented approach.

Tools

• Familiarity with compliance risk management tools and regulatory reporting systems.
