Senior Applied Scientist (Computer Vision)

Job summary

This role involves designing, building, and scaling analytical pipelines and algorithms to convert complex experimental data into actionable insights within the quantum computing sector. The position requires collaboration with scientists and engineers to enhance quantum machine development and improve product quality.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Python programming, including scientific computing and production-quality code development.
• Experience in image processing, computer vision, or imaging-based analysis workflows.
• Expertise in statistical analysis and uncertainty estimation in experimental systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable analysis pipelines for microscopy imaging and characterization data.
• Design and implement algorithms for image analysis, ensuring robustness and reproducibility.
• Build and operationalize machine learning models for feature extraction and anomaly detection.
• Collaborate with physicists and engineers to translate experimental data into insights.
• Maintain clear data models and handle data quality issues to ensure reproducibility.
• Ensure quality and reliability of analytical workflows through debugging and performance tuning.

Skills

• Experience in developing and deploying machine learning models for experimental data.
• Familiarity with data pipeline tools in distributed environments (e.g., Spark, Databricks).
• Understanding of nanofabrication processes and metrology techniques.
• Experience in collaborative environments with scientific teams.

Education

• Advanced degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
