Job summary

This role involves providing technical sales support to current and prospective clients, acting as a trusted advisor and technical leader. The Sales Engineer will engage in pre-sales activities, translating business needs into technical requirements and driving revenue growth.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the software or storage industry, particularly in a pre-sales sales engineer role.
  • Solid experience in delivering, presenting, and supporting Enterprise/Commercial Clients.
  • Strong competitive knowledge and experience in selling and conducting Proof of Concept.
  • Familiarity with software licensing practices and enterprise applications like SAP and Oracle.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with account teams to develop territory plans and sales strategies.
  • Build relationships with technical decision-makers and engage in discussions about key business issues.
  • Create and present technical account plans and proposals to business sponsors.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and proof-of-concept sessions.
  • Participate in sales meetings and contribute technical leadership.
  • Provide technical support for channel and alliance partners.

Skills

  • Strong consultative selling skills with a focus on business and industry insights.
  • Proficiency in at least one major open systems operating system or cloud technology.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure technologies including storage, servers, and networking.

Education

  • Relevant technical certifications and continuous professional development are preferred.

Tools

  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com for documentation and business reviews.
