Job summary

This position combines engineering, sales, and product development within the marine sector. The Sales Engineer will translate customer needs into viable technical solutions, ensuring optimal product fit while considering technical constraints, costs, and performance. The role involves active participation in customer interactions and collaboration with various internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in the marine industry, such as a sailing engineer or naval architect.
  • Strong understanding of vessel engine room systems and their interactions.
  • Experience with technical solutions and system design in a customer context.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical evaluations of customer requirements and align them with available marine solutions.
  • Support complex quotation processes, including calculations and technical specifications.
  • Engage in customer projects through meetings and technical discussions, both remotely and on-site.
  • Collaborate with Sales, R&D, and Product Management to define competitive solutions.
  • Act as a product expert, maintaining deep knowledge of product capabilities and applications.
  • Contribute to product launches and internal training initiatives.
  • Develop and utilize technical documentation and internal processes.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with customers and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail combined with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Confidence in challenging assumptions and providing constructive feedback.

Tools

  • Familiarity with technical documentation and project management tools is beneficial.
