Job summary

This position involves research focused on characterizing anaerobic microorganisms that can metabolize various substrates for biochemical production. The role is integral to developing microbial production systems aimed at transforming chemical production processes.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Background in microbial physiology and general microbiology.
  • Hands-on experience with microbial cultivation and isolation, particularly of anaerobic bacteria.
  • Familiarity with the cultivation of acetogenic bacteria.
  • Knowledge of molecular and synthetic biology.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in English for documentation and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and isolate microorganisms capable of metabolizing selected chemical substrates.
  • Characterize anaerobic organisms for their metabolic capabilities.
  • Conduct physical characterization, genome analysis, and metabolite analysis of isolated strains.
  • Initiate metabolic engineering approaches for selected organisms.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers.
  • Contribute to the publication of research findings in reputable scientific journals.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project deliverables with high accuracy.

Education
