About the role

Job summary

This role involves contributing to project-based AI opportunities by designing computational physics problems that simulate real research workflows. Contributors will engage in tasks that require Python programming and ensure that the problems are computationally intensive and based on real research challenges.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational) or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or other programming languages is acceptable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied, research, or teaching roles.
  • Experience with numerical simulation methods.
  • Ability to design problems that reflect real physics research workflows.
  • Creative thinking in problem design across various physics disciplines.
  • Strong written English skills (C1+).

Responsibilities

Project time expectations

Tasks are estimated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week during active phases of the project.

Compensation

Contributors can earn up to $45 per hour, depending on their level of expertise and contribution pace.

  • Design original computational physics problems.
  • Create problems that require Python programming to solve.
  • Ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Develop problems that involve complex reasoning in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
  • Verify solutions using Python and standard physics simulation libraries.
  • Document problem statements and provide verified correct answers.
