Associate Scientist - Strain Engineering (Biotechnology, Hørsholm)

Job summary

This position involves working as an Associate Scientist in the Strain Development team, focusing on engineering microbial strains for industrial fermentation and sustainable product development. The role requires collaboration with various scientific disciplines to advance development and early-stage discovery projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in biotechnology, microbiology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques such as cloning and PCR.
• Practical experience in a laboratory setting working with microorganisms.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Construct and optimize yeast strains using molecular biology techniques.
• Support small-scale cultivation experiments to assess strain performance.
• Document experimental work using Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN).
• Analyze results to contribute to data-driven decision-making.
• Identify and implement enhancements to experimental methods and workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strain development initiatives.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to safety standards.
