About the role

Job summary

This role involves managing public policy initiatives across the Nordic region for a fixed term of 24 months. The position requires collaboration with various teams to shape and advocate for policy positions on critical issues such as AI, youth safety, and data protection.

Responsibilities

  • Provide insights on policy developments and public sentiment in the Nordic countries, focusing on key issues like AI, privacy, and content regulation.
  • Collaborate with the Nordic policy team to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Create strategies to promote the organization's policy positions based on a comprehensive understanding of its services and priorities.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with policymakers and stakeholders in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Iceland.
  • Represent the organization at policy events and public speaking engagements throughout the region.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to formulate clear policy positions and translate them into actionable regional strategies.
  • Assist in developing policy programs that align with the organization's mission in the Nordic area.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in public policy.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing policy strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with government officials and policy stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the Nordic political and regulatory environment.
  • Proficiency in English and at least one Nordic language (Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, or Swedish).
  • Educational background in Political Science, Social Science, Law, or a related field.
  • Experience working collaboratively on complex policy issues.
  • Knowledge of technology policy, particularly in AI and data protection.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance workflows and achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Ongoing development of AI skills and awareness of emerging technologies.
  • Experience managing multiple policy initiatives with competing priorities.
  • Background in youth safety policy is advantageous.
  • Experience with government institutions or trade organizations is a plus.
  • Commitment to ethical AI practices, including risk assessment and bias mitigation.
  • Willingness to travel within the Nordic region as required.
