This role involves leading the development and execution of a global communications strategy for the Biodiversity Hotspots initiative, aimed at enhancing conservation efforts through effective stakeholder engagement and digital presence.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in communication or journalism.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in communications.
  • Proven track record in developing digital platforms and websites.
  • Experience in brand development and communication strategies.
  • Strong capability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with international partners and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and promote the Biodiversity Hotspots brand through strategic messaging and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee the conceptualization and management of the Biodiversity Hotspots website as a global knowledge platform, ensuring user-friendly access to scientific data.
  • Create accessible communication content by collaborating with stakeholders and translating scientific findings into engaging narratives.
  • Coordinate communication activities with international academia, NGOs, and donors to foster collaboration and alignment with conservation priorities.
  • Establish and manage communication channels, including social media platforms, to raise awareness of the initiative.
  • Promote the Hotspots website and its updates within relevant media and conservation networks.

  • Expertise in digital platform management and user experience design.
  • Ability to create compelling content that resonates with both scientific and general audiences.
