Programme Budget Specialist (Finance, Copenhagen)

Job summary

The role involves managing the financial lifecycle of Gavi-funded programs, ensuring effective cash management and compliance while acting as a liaison with Gavi for financial operations. The position requires coordination of financial transactions and reporting, as well as leading systems-related projects to enhance financial processes.

Qualifications

• Master or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Budget and Finance Management, Monitoring and Reporting, and Project Management, preferably in an international context.
• Experience in financial systems/application development and business process analysis.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Fluency in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial management of Gavi-funded programs from approval to reporting.
• Act as a financial liaison with Gavi, negotiating financing agreements and addressing operational issues.
• Monitor program implementation and coordinate with relevant centers for timely approvals and fund requests.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures in transaction recording.
• Prepare financial reports and support annual financial statement disclosures.
• Manage escrow account transactions and communicate cash movements to relevant parties.
• Lead projects to enhance ERP business processes and performance indicators.
• Provide financial advisory in cross-center meetings and act as a backup for other accounting roles as needed.
