Product Controller (On-Site, Copenhagen)

Job summary

The role of Product Controller involves managing daily P&L, valuations, and exposure reporting within the commodities and energy trading sector. This position is based in Copenhagen and requires collaboration with trading desks to provide insights on trading performance and market movements.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in Product Control, Market Risk, or a similar role in commodity or financial trading.
• Understanding of commodity trading economics, particularly in energy, metals, or agriculture.
• Familiarity with trading P&L, mark-to-market valuation, and exposure management.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Exposure to Power BI, SQL, Python, or ETRM/CTRM systems is a plus.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Produce and validate daily trading P&L for physical and derivative positions.
• Analyze and explain key performance drivers and market movements.
• Prepare daily position and exposure reports, ensuring accuracy.
• Communicate insights on P&L and exposures to traders and management.
• Validate forward curves and support mark-to-market valuations.
• Maintain integrity of reported P&L and exposures through robust controls.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve data and reporting issues.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
