Product Controller (On-Site, Copenhagen)

Job summary

The role of Product Controller involves managing daily P&L, valuations, and exposure reporting within a commodities and energy trading environment. This position is based in Copenhagen and requires collaboration with trading desks to provide insights into trading performance and market exposures.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in Product Control, Market Risk, Middle Office, or a similar role in commodity or financial trading.
• Understanding of commodity trading economics, particularly in energy, metals, or agriculture.
• Familiarity with trading P&L, mark-to-market valuation, and exposure management.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Exposure to Power BI, SQL, Python, or ETRM/CTRM systems is a plus.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Produce and validate daily trading P&L for physical and derivative positions.
• Analyze P&L attribution and communicate insights to traders and management.
• Support mark-to-market valuation and perform independent price verification.
• Maintain integrity of reported P&L and exposures through robust controls.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve data and reporting issues.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
