Job summary

A postdoctoral researcher is sought to enhance experimental capabilities within a Quantum Optoelectronics group, focusing on the development of a cryogenic magneto-optical setup for studying optoelectronic properties of low-dimensional materials. The role involves innovative nanofabrication methods and collaboration with a cleanroom facility.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in condensed-matter physics, optics, and/or nanofabrication.
  • Expertise or interest in condensed matter physics and quantum materials.
  • Knowledge of quantum optics and experimental optical spectroscopy.
  • Familiarity with quantum transport and device operation.
  • Understanding of two-dimensional materials, particularly semiconductors and magnetic materials.
  • Experience in fabrication of van der Waals heterostructures and cleanroom environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment of a new cryogenic magneto-optical setup.
  • Explore optoelectronic properties of low-dimensional semiconducting and magnetic materials.
  • Develop innovative nanofabrication techniques in collaboration with the cleanroom facility.

Skills

  • Proficiency in experimental quantum optics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.

Education

  • PhD in Physics or a related field is required at the time of employment.
