Job summary

This position involves a two-year postdoctoral role focused on developing quantum chemical methods and algorithms for predicting molecular properties and spectra using hybrid quantum-classical computing architectures. The role includes research dissemination through scientific publications and conference presentations.

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantum Information Science, or Information Science.
  • Documented experience in developing quantum computing algorithms for quantum chemistry applications on NISQ or fault-tolerant quantum computers.
  • Familiarity with quantum computing software libraries such as IBM’s Qiskit or Pennylane.
  • Proficiency in programming with Python and/or compiled languages like C++ or Fortran.
  • Experience in method development in quantum chemistry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop quantum algorithms for quantum chemistry calculations on hybrid architectures.
  • Participate in project group meetings and activities.
  • Engage in limited teaching activities for BSc or MSc courses at the Department of Chemistry.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in quantum chemistry and computing.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively in written and spoken formats.

Education

  • A PhD degree in a relevant field is required.

Tools

  • Experience with quantum computing libraries (e.g., Qiskit, Pennylane).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Fortran.
