This postdoctoral position focuses on developing innovative life cycle impact assessment methods for evaluating metal resources in the context of environmental sustainability. Qualifications

  • PhD in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Expertise in life cycle impact assessment, material flow analysis, or similar areas with a focus on natural resources.
  • Strong mathematical and programming skills are advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and a strong motivation for research are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a framework and indicators for assessing the impacts of metal resources, considering metal dissipation in the technosphere.
  • Link developed indicators to current and emerging boundaries for metal resource usage.
  • Create inventory procedures for metals that align with the developed indicators.
  • Contribute to international research projects and participate in relevant teaching activities, including supervising MSc and PhD student projects.

Education

  • A formal qualification of a PhD degree (or equivalent) is required.

Tools

  • Familiarity with life cycle assessment software and programming tools is beneficial.
