Job summary

Seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to engage in a project focused on advanced methodologies for amine-based CO₂ capture systems, integrating thermodynamic modeling with process systems engineering and data-driven approaches.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Strong background in applied thermodynamics and/or process systems engineering.
  • Solid foundation in mathematics, particularly linear algebra, numerical methods, or dynamical systems.
  • Proven research track record with peer-reviewed publications.
  • Experience with programming (e.g., MATLAB, Python) and process simulation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop thermodynamic and process models for CO₂ capture systems.
  • Analyze system dynamics, stability, and transient behavior of absorption processes.
  • Apply mathematical and computational methods, including linear algebra and dynamical systems theory.
  • Integrate physics-based models with machine learning approaches.
  • Implement simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Aspen Plus, Aspen Dynamics).
  • Collaborate with experimental and industrial partners.
  • Contribute to scientific publications and project reporting.

Skills

  • Experience with modeling of dynamical systems, process control, or system analysis.
  • Familiarity with CO₂ capture and amine-based absorption systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of control theory or stability analysis of engineering systems is a plus.
  • Experience with machine learning or data-driven modeling is beneficial.
  • Understanding of multiphysics or multiscale modeling is a plus.

Tools

  • MATLAB, Python, Aspen Plus, Aspen Dynamics, or similar platforms.

Education

  • A PhD degree (or equivalent) is required.
