This PhD position focuses on advancing the understanding of ion transport and failure mechanisms in next-generation batteries through electrolyte analysis. The project emphasizes experimental work utilizing NMR spectroscopy and electrochemical methods over a three-year period.

Qualifications

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
  • A strong interest in clean energy and sustainability.
  • Curiosity and a self-starting attitude towards scientific inquiry.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct experimental research on battery electrolytes using NMR and electrochemical techniques.
  • Analyze ion transport mechanisms under various operating conditions.
  • Investigate failure modes of electrolytes in extreme conditions.

Skills

  • Familiarity with NMR spectroscopy and electrochemistry is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
