Job summary

The Manager, Payroll Operations is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery across a designated portfolio of countries. This role combines leadership and operational management, guiding a team of payroll specialists to meet payroll expectations while enhancing their skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing payroll outcomes in regional or multi-country settings.
• Demonstrated capability in people leadership, including coaching and performance evaluation.
• Experience in resolving operational issues and applying policies consistently.
• Strong operational judgment balancing speed, accuracy, and customer impact.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in asynchronous environments.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of payroll specialists, ensuring accountability for payroll accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct operational investigations into payroll issues and drive resolutions.
• Own end-to-end payroll delivery for assigned countries, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Support global payroll implementation initiatives, providing market-specific expertise.
• Identify operational risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills

• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to clarify and apply payroll policies and controls.
• Experience with remote-first or globally distributed teams.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in payroll operations or related field.

Tools

• Familiarity with payroll systems and tools, including Zendesk for operational support.
