Lead Finance Business Architect

Job summary

This role involves defining the finance system landscape for a major logistics company during a significant integration phase. The Lead Finance Business Architect will oversee the architecture for all finance capabilities, chair the Design Authority Board, and ensure that changes align with the target architecture.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end business and system architecture for finance domains, including invoicing and reporting data.
• Define and maintain the target system landscape for finance capabilities, guiding the direction of a rapidly growing finance platform.
• Chair the Design Authority Board, governing all change requests affecting the finance system architecture.
• Conduct architectural impact assessments and design solutions for future business requirements, including compliance needs.
• Standardize and guide development to enhance the SAP S/4HANA systems landscape.
• Set and enforce architectural principles and standards for finance applications.
• Provide decision-making materials to senior finance and IT leadership regarding landscape choices and technology trade-offs.
• Collaborate with Global IT enterprise architecture to ensure alignment with the overall application strategy.
• Document the current landscape and manage the transition to the target state.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in business or enterprise architecture, particularly in finance within large international organizations.
• Familiarity with the finance application landscape, especially ERP systems like SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience in governance forums such as design authorities or architecture review boards.
• Understanding of compliance drivers for finance systems, including e-invoicing regulations.
• Ability to present complex information clearly to executive audiences.
• Proficient in English communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in post-merger integration or large-scale system consolidation is a plus.

Education

• Relevant educational background in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.

Tools

• Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP S/4HANA, and familiarity with finance-related applications.
