Indirect Tax Manager (Real Estate, Copenhagen/Oslo)

Job summary

The Indirect Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing indirect tax projects and ensuring effective operations within the Group Tax team. This role focuses on optimizing VAT structures and compliance in alignment with the organization's long-term objectives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Law or Finance.
• 6-8 years of experience with indirect taxes, ideally in a multinational group, Big 4, law firm, or tax authority.
• Strong expertise in VAT, particularly in real estate.
• Solid understanding of EU VAT rules and VAT regulations in Scandinavia.
• Strategic and structured work approach with high professional integrity.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; proficiency in Swedish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive VAT structuring in transactions and identify cost-saving initiatives.
• Monitor VAT structures and initiate projects to reduce the overall VAT burden.
• Build relationships with local tax and finance teams for consistency across jurisdictions.
• Lead VAT controversy matters in collaboration with local finance teams and external advisors.
• Implement VAT group compliance in Sweden and other applicable countries.
• Review and optimize VAT deductions and registrations across all countries.
• Train AP/AR teams on VAT handling and standardize VAT processes.
• Conduct internal controls and handle VAT audits across jurisdictions.
• Manage VAT structuring for new development projects and transactions.
