Indirect Tax Manager (Copenhagen/Oslo)

Job summary

The Indirect Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing indirect tax projects and ensuring effective operations within the Group Tax team. This role focuses on optimizing VAT structures to align with business objectives and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Law or Finance.
• 6-8 years of experience in indirect taxes, ideally within a multinational group, Big 4, law firm, or tax authority.
• Strong expertise in VAT, particularly in real estate.
• Solid understanding of EU VAT rules and Scandinavian VAT regulations.
• Strategic and structured working style with high professional integrity.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; proficiency in Swedish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive VAT structuring in transactions and identify cost-saving initiatives.
• Monitor and analyze VAT structures to reduce the overall VAT burden.
• Build relationships with local tax and finance teams for consistency across jurisdictions.
• Lead VAT controversy matters in collaboration with local finance teams and external advisors.
• Participate in structuring new market entries and support regional initiatives.
• Implement and ensure compliance with VAT group requirements in Sweden and other countries.
• Optimize VAT deductions and standardize VAT handling across the group.
• Conduct internal controls and handle VAT audits across jurisdictions.
• Manage VAT structuring for new development projects and transactions.
