Freelance Data Scraping Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

This is a part-time freelance position for a Data Scraping Engineer specializing in Python. The role involves driving data scraping workflows within a hybrid AI and human system, focusing on web extraction and processing tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.
• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Python web scraping tools (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, etc.) and experience with dynamic content and APIs.
• Strong background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation, with the ability to deliver structured datasets.
• Familiarity with LLMs and AI frameworks is beneficial.
• Upper-intermediate English proficiency (B2) or above is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end data extraction workflows, ensuring accuracy and reliability of structured datasets.
• Utilize internal tools (Apify, OpenRouter) and custom workflows to enhance data collection and validation processes.
• Adapt scraping techniques for dynamic and interactive web sources, including handling JavaScript-rendered content.
• Implement data quality standards through validation checks and systematic verification before delivery.
• Scale scraping operations for large datasets, monitor failures, and maintain stability against minor site changes.

Skills

Compensation

Earn up to $37 per hour, with compensation varying based on project scope and complexity. Performance-based bonuses may also be available.
