Finance Specialist (Supply Chain Management, Copenhagen)

Job summary

The Finance Specialist is a key member of the Finance Team within the Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU), responsible for overseeing financial activities and ensuring compliance with UNFPA regulations. This role involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders to enhance financial management and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in financial management, preferably within a supply chain context.
• Strong understanding of financial policies and regulations, particularly IPSAS standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SCMU’s financial operations, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
• Provide financial guidance on resource planning and budgeting.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and compliant transactions.
• Lead annual financial closures and coordinate with auditors.
• Develop and implement capacity-strengthening initiatives for supply chain professionals.
• Engage with industry experts and represent UNFPA in supply chain discussions.
• Foster relationships with donors and partners to enhance resource mobilization.
• Supervise and lead the finance team, creating a conducive working environment.
