Qualifications

  • Over 8 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory.
  • Proven track record in sourcing and developing acquisition opportunities.
  • Experience in conducting financial, legal, operational, and people-related due diligence.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including the ability to create complex models independently.
  • Experience presenting to executive teams and boards, with the ability to defend analyses.
  • Familiarity with software and recurring-revenue business models.
  • Background in post-merger integration and evaluating strategic alliances.
  • Knowledge of debt or equity financing processes.
  • Experience in multi-year strategic planning and market analysis.
  • Strong commercial judgment and ability to decline unsuitable opportunities.
  • Composed under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a pipeline of acquisition opportunities aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Establish a consistent screening and scoring methodology for opportunities.
  • Prepare opportunity assessments detailing transaction costs and expected returns.
  • Develop valuation and sensitivity models for acquisitions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional due diligence activities.
  • Lead diligence on target leadership and translate findings into recommendations.
  • Support transaction structuring and negotiations with legal advisers.
  • Prepare materials for executive and board-level investment decisions.
  • Track completed transactions against original investment theses.
  • Develop integration budgets and lead post-close integration planning.
  • Identify and evaluate strategic alliances and joint ventures.
  • Maintain documentation of evaluated and declined opportunities.
  • Partner with senior leadership on growth strategy and market analysis.
  • Support financing initiatives and prepare necessary materials.
  • Build the infrastructure for a scalable corporate development function.
  • Contribute to hiring and developing future team members.

Education

  • Relevant degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
