Job summary

This role involves a strategic focus on BI engineering, specifically in designing reporting architecture and data foundations for the Parcels business over a 12-month fixed-term contract. The position requires collaboration with various teams to enhance reporting capabilities and decision-making tools.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in BI Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Business Intelligence development, particularly in semantic modeling and governed reporting.
• Strong proficiency with Looker, LookML, SQL, or similar BI/data tools.
• Experience in creating dashboards or reporting products for commercial, finance, supply chain, or logistics teams.
• Ability to translate business challenges into effective reporting solutions.
• Strong skills in dimensional data modeling and designing reusable semantic layers.
• Familiarity with governed reporting environments and documentation practices.
• Comfortable working with stakeholders to shape requirements into practical solutions.
• Structured approach to documentation and governance.
• Experience with Google Sheets, Apps Script, Python, or automation tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of BI products and reporting solutions for the Parcels business.
• Collaborate with the AD of Planning and the team to define necessary reporting and tooling for the upcoming year.
• Establish technical standards for BI development and governance.
• Develop performant LookML models and dashboards to support various business functions.
• Partner with Data Engineering to optimize analytical datasets for reporting.
• Transition manual reporting processes to more reliable BI solutions.
• Support the creation of planning tools for improved forecasting and performance tracking.
• Ensure data governance through clear definitions and consistent performance metrics.
