Associate - Quantum Investment (Copenhagen)

Job summary

An investment firm is looking for an Associate to join its Quantum Investment team in Copenhagen, focusing on investments in start-ups that utilize quantum technology for applications in life sciences. The role involves supporting the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing opportunities to transaction execution and portfolio management.

Qualifications

• PhD in quantum information science, theoretical physics, applied mathematics, or a related field, with a solid understanding of quantum algorithms.
• 0-2 years of work experience post-PhD.
• Genuine interest in start-ups and investment.
• Strong communication skills.
• No prior venture capital experience required, but familiarity with VC is a plus.
• Ambitious, proactive, and self-motivated with a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Demonstrated extracurricular involvement during studies.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate promising quantum investment opportunities.
• Contribute insights on quantum algorithms and assist in due diligence.
• Build and enhance the firm's network and deal flow in the deep-tech and quantum ecosystem.
• Support senior team members with board-related tasks and portfolio follow-up.
• Help establish the firm's Quantum brand within the European technology landscape.
• Collaborate across the organization on a global scale.
• Develop investment skills and career through hands-on experience.
