Student Assistant (IT Security, On-site)

Job summary

This role involves supporting IT Security operations by engaging in tasks related to Threat Hunting, Threat Intelligence, SIEM, and EDR. The Student Assistant will contribute to defining security guidelines and ensuring effective security measures in both internal and customer environments.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with SIEM or EDR solutions.
• Understanding of security in networks and endpoints.
• Ability to stay updated on the global threat landscape.
• Must be eligible for PET security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Investigate patterns and implement alerts and visualizations in SIEM for detecting suspicious events.
• Respond to and follow up on alerts from SIEM and EDR solutions, making necessary adjustments for accuracy.
• Configure integrations between SIEM and other systems, including Cloud and containers.
• Monitor and configure IDS/IPS solutions.

Skills

• Strong enthusiasm for IT Security and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• Ability to advise project teams on security-related tasks.

Education

• Currently enrolled in a relevant educational program, with the ability to work approximately 16 hours per week, with flexibility during exam periods.

Tools

• SIEM and EDR solutions, IDS/IPS systems.
