Student Assistant (Biotechnology, On-site)

Job summary

A student assistant position is available in a cutting-edge pilot plant, providing hands-on experience in fermentation and bioprocessing within a research environment. This role supports innovative projects in biotechnology aimed at sustainable production and environmentally friendly solutions.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in biotechnology, biochemistry, biology, chemical engineering, or a related field
• Interest in microbial fermentation and bioprocessing
• Enjoyment of practical lab and pilot plant work
• Structured, responsible, and eager to learn
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Flexibility to assist with various tasks, including routine lab maintenance

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and execution of fermentation experiments
• Help with sampling, data collection, and basic data analysis
• Support documentation in digital lab systems (LIMS)
• Prepare media, clean equipment, and maintain the lab and pilot plant
• Engage in both laboratory and practical tasks in the pilot plant

Skills

• Experience with fermentation, laboratory techniques, or bioreactors is a plus, but not mandatory

Education

• Enrollment in a relevant academic program is required

Tools

• Familiarity with digital lab systems (LIMS) is beneficial
