The Spot Trade Sales Specialist plays a crucial role in the secondary IT hardware market, focusing on driving revenue through efficient and margin-oriented transactions. This position requires a proactive approach to sourcing opportunities and negotiating deals, leveraging an established network to connect supply with demand.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in ITAD brokerage or secondary IT hardware sales.
  • Proven track record of achieving strong annual gross margins.
  • Deep technical knowledge of enterprise IT hardware and component pricing.
  • Established network with active relationships on both buy and sell sides.

Responsibilities

  • Source IT hardware for resale through enterprise, MSP, broker, and leasing networks.
  • Negotiate pricing for servers, networking, storage, and end-user devices.
  • Match inventory with global buyers across various channels.
  • Maximize sales margins through effective negotiation and relationship management.
  • Manage and forecast sales pipeline using CRM systems.
  • Coordinate with logistics and data sanitization teams for compliant deal execution.
  • Handle customer relationships, including post-sale support and disputes.
  • Monitor market pricing and demand trends in technology hardware.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to walk away from low-margin deals.
  • Knowledge of ITAD processes and data destruction standards (NIST 800-88, DoD 5220.22-M).
  • Familiarity with CRM tools, such as HubSpot.
  • Understanding of OEM/channel restrictions affecting resale value.

Education

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in sales or technology preferred.

Tools

  • CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot) for managing sales pipeline and customer relationships.
