Job summary

The role involves ensuring the reliability and operability of a brokerage platform, focusing on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and database reliability, particularly with PostgreSQL. The position is remote and requires a proactive approach to incident response and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related fields with significant experience in production operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and GitOps workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and schema management.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts and debugging cross-service connectivity.
  • Proficient in Linux and modern observability tools.
  • Experience in incident response and structured debugging.
  • Proficient in Go or Python with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day production operations, including on-call duties and incident response.
  • Define and refine service level indicators (SLIs), service level objectives (SLOs), and error budgets.
  • Enhance observability across metrics, logs, and alerting systems.
  • Implement infrastructure as code for cloud resources and Kubernetes workloads.
  • Oversee PostgreSQL performance, migrations, and high availability.
  • Mentor other engineers in reliability and database best practices.

Skills

  • Expertise in Kubernetes and GitOps.
  • Strong PostgreSQL skills, including query optimization and migration strategies.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and observability stacks.
  • Proficient in incident management and structured postmortem processes.

Education

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a technical field is preferred.

Tools

  • Experience with tools for observability, incident management, and cloud infrastructure management.
