Data Center Engineer (Amsterdam)

Job summary

The role involves ensuring the optimal operation of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems within a data center. Responsibilities include performing maintenance, responding to emergencies, and collaborating with vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in data center operations, installation, and maintenance.
• High school diploma or college degree.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and control systems.
• Proficient in Dutch and English, with good communication skills.
• Electrical or mechanical qualification required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain facilities systems, responding to abnormal conditions.
• Conduct planned and ad-hoc maintenance tasks across various engineering trades.
• Perform inspections of building systems and maintain clean, safe mechanical equipment rooms.
• Manage emergency situations and air quality complaints effectively.
• Create and track work requests, ensuring completion of tasks.
• Monitor service contractors' performance and suggest improvements.
• Draft and review operational documents such as SOPs and EOPs.

Skills

• Strong observation and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to write and review operational documentation.

Education

• High school diploma or college degree.

• Familiarity with customer ticketing systems and operational processes.
