Senior Supply & Logistics Specialist

Job summary

The Senior Supply & Logistics Specialist will be responsible for managing and supporting supply and logistics emergency response activities, including planning and distribution, while deployed to Country Offices up to 70% of the time. This role involves providing expert advice, coordinating procurement strategies, and ensuring efficient supply operations during emergencies. The Specialist will also facilitate training and collaboration with various stakeholders, including UN agencies and NGOs.

Qualifications

• Advanced University Degree (Master's or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in supply/logistics management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supply and logistics response strategies for emergency situations.
• Provide expert advice on supply and logistics programming to ensure cost-effectiveness and timeliness.
• Review procurement strategies and coordinate with relevant centers in the Supply Division.
• Establish and monitor staffing structures for supply and logistics operations.
• Ensure efficient planning, implementation, and evaluation of supply chain operations.
• Liaise with government counterparts and third-party service providers for logistics management.
• Conduct training for staff and counterparts to enhance supply delivery and emergency preparedness.
