Senior Supply & Logistics Specialist

Job summary

The Senior Supply & Logistics Specialist will be responsible for managing supply and logistics emergency response activities, including planning and distribution, while deployed to Country Offices up to 70% of the time. The role involves providing expert advice on supply and logistics, reviewing procurement strategies, and ensuring efficient operations during emergencies. The specialist will also support training initiatives and collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance emergency preparedness and response.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related field.
• 10 years of relevant experience in supply/logistics management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supply and logistics response strategies for emergencies.
• Provide expert advice on supply and logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective operations.
• Review and coordinate procurement strategies with relevant centers.
• Ensure efficient supply operations and appropriate staffing structures.
• Monitor workload and establish clear roles and responsibilities.
• Oversee supply chain operations, including documentation and evaluation.
• Advise NGOs and UN agencies on emergency supply logistics.
• Coordinate logistics with government counterparts and third-party providers.
• Conduct training for staff and counterparts in supply management.
