Senior Software Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development and scaling of systems that support market data products, including stocks, options, crypto, and foreign exchange markets. You will be responsible for overseeing the public API structure and documentation, while also designing and implementing highly scalable backend services.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in building systems at scale.
• Proficiency in at least one compiled imperative programming language (e.g., Go, C, C++, Rust).
• Strong SQL or relational database skills.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP and UDP networking.
• Proficient in Linux/BSD and shell scripting.
• Proven experience in architecting medium-scale projects across multiple teams.
• Experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration systems.
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms, particularly GCP.
• Passion for financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Influence the architecture of market data systems.
• Design scalable, mission-critical systems with a focus on latency.
• Implement backend services and maintain software quality and test coverage.
• Participate in code reviews and troubleshoot incidents.
• Be available for on-call support for urgent engineering projects.

Skills

• Experience with market data and microservice architectures is a plus.
• Knowledge of clean code principles and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with cloud networking and low-latency application development.
• Experience with CI/CD processes and observability tools.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in software engineering or a related field.

Tools

• Experience with Kubernetes, GCP, and distributed key-value stores is advantageous.
