Senior Software Engineer (Digital Compliance)

Job summary

This position focuses on developing and maintaining compliance infrastructure to ensure digital safety and regulatory adherence in applications. The role emphasizes transforming compliance into an automated and verifiable process, supporting the organization's commitment to responsible innovation and child wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Unity or similar cross-platform mobile frameworks (e.g., Flutter, React Native).
• Strong application of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, including automation and infrastructure as code.
• Experience in building scalable automated compliance and safety systems.
• Ability to interpret complex regulatory frameworks and translate them into engineering tasks.
• Experience collaborating with legal, product safety, QA, and engineering teams.
• Significant software engineering background, with at least 2 years in compliance or platform reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain compliance infrastructure across the app ecosystem using SRE principles.
• Ensure legacy applications comply with consumer laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with the Digital Product Safety team to implement new regulatory requirements.
• Mentor team members on compliance practices and SRE principles.
• Maintain high standards in code quality and testing for compliance systems.

Skills

• Familiarity with digital child safety regulations (e.g., COPPA, GDPR-K) is a plus.
• Experience with Bluetooth peripherals or IoT devices is advantageous.
• Ability to present technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

Tools

• Experience with compliance automation tools and software development environments.
