Senior Safety & Compliance Engineer

Job summary

This role involves overseeing machine safety and compliance throughout the project lifecycle, from initial design to customer acceptance. The position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure adherence to safety regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in machine safety, functional safety, or compliance engineering.
• Degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Experience with CE marking, risk assessments, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses.
• Develop safety concepts and Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS).
• Support design reviews, factory acceptance tests (FATs), site acceptance tests (SATs), and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with European and international safety standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in machine safety and compliance.
• Serve as the internal expert for safety-related inquiries.

Skills

• Strong technical expertise in safety PLC solutions and safety architectures.
• Knowledge of EU Machinery Regulation and U.S. safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 79, ANSI B11).
• Proficient in technical documentation and declarations of conformity.

Education

• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

Tools

• Familiarity with safety-related control systems and technical documentation processes.
