Senior Reinsurance Broker (Insurance, Nordic Region)

Job summary

This position involves managing and developing a portfolio of reinsurance clients within the Nordic region, focusing on Property and Casualty business while exploring opportunities in other areas such as cyber and engineering. Qualifications

• Proven experience in reinsurance with direct client interaction, from either a broker or carrier perspective.
• Demonstrated ability to develop business and build client relationships, contributing to revenue growth.
• Familiarity with Property and Casualty reinsurance and the capacity to support additional lines as needed.
• Knowledge of the Nordic insurance or reinsurance market.
• Proficient in assessing client needs and translating them into effective risk transfer solutions.
• Experience in negotiating placement terms with reinsurers.
• Fluency in English and at least one Nordic language.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical topics to diverse audiences.
• A degree in mathematics, finance, economics, statistics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of reinsurance clients across the Nordic region.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities with insurers and reinsurers.
• Structure and place reinsurance programmes for Property and Casualty lines.
• Present and market complex risks to carriers on behalf of clients.
• Analyze client exposures and formulate clear reinsurance strategies.
• Identify suitable markets, negotiate terms, and prepare recommendations for clients.
• Build and maintain relationships with reinsurers, insurers, and brokers in the region.
• Contribute directly to revenue by originating and closing new opportunities.
• Collaborate with colleagues across locations in an international setup.
• Manage multiple placements and client requirements simultaneously.
