Senior QA Automation Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

This senior-level role focuses on ensuring the reliability and scalability of critical payment flows through a combination of exploratory testing and automation. The position involves ownership of end-to-end quality, from test strategy to production debugging.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in QA engineering or test automation, particularly with complex systems.
• Hands-on experience with testing REST APIs, including HTTP and JSON.
• Strong understanding of backend systems and software integration patterns.
• Practical experience with test automation frameworks like Playwright or RestAssured.
• Ability to diagnose technical issues using logs and API traces.
• Familiarity with asynchronous systems and transaction patterns.
• Previous experience in payments or fintech is highly valued.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated quality checks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• SQL and data-validation skills are a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end quality for critical payment journeys.
• Design and execute API-first test strategies.
• Build and maintain automated API and UI test suites.
• Develop reusable automation components.
• Test integrations with external providers, focusing on asynchronous callbacks and failure scenarios.
• Investigate production incidents and contribute to root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve system testability.
• Contribute to release quality gates and regression testing strategies.
• Identify risks and strengthen testing coverage.
• Explore AI-assisted QA techniques to enhance testing efficiency.
