Senior Purview Specialist

Job summary

An experienced Microsoft Purview specialist is sought to lead compliance projects and develop Purview capabilities as the landscape evolves. This role involves end-to-end implementations of Microsoft Purview, focusing on data security and compliance across various industries.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of hands-on experience with security and compliance technologies in a Microsoft environment.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Purview, including Data Classification, Information Protection, DLP, and Insider Risk Management.
• Experience with implementing sensitivity labels, retention policies, and DLP rules.
• Knowledge of data governance principles within the Microsoft ecosystem.
• Current Microsoft certifications in compliance and security, or willingness to obtain them within 90 days.
• Strong communication skills for client-facing interactions.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimize Microsoft Purview solutions tailored to client needs.
• Develop data protection policies, automation workflows, and compliance reporting.
• Assess and report on the maturity of client data security and compliance deployments.
• Create operational and executive compliance dashboards and reports.
• Collaborate with other engineers and support managed service customers in enhancing data security practices.

Skills

• Knowledge of LLMs and agentic workflows, including cybersecurity risk considerations.
• Understanding of Zero Trust principles as applied to data security.
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and compliance reporting.

Education

• Relevant Microsoft certifications such as Information Protection Administrator Associate or Security Administrator Associate are preferred.

Tools

• Microsoft Purview and broader Microsoft 365 compliance ecosystem.
