Job summary

We are seeking a motivated Senior Optical Engineer to join the Fiber Development team, focusing on fiber design development and contributing to technology roadmaps. This role involves hands-on work with advanced optical systems and the development of next-generation fiber technologies.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in fiber optics and free-space optics.
• Experience in an optical lab environment, including setting up and troubleshooting optical systems.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of fiber design development, transforming experimental insights into performance improvements.
• Contribute to intellectual property and patent generation.
• Design and operate experimental setups, including fiber characterization and amplifier systems.
• Analyze complex data to drive design improvements.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to advance fiber designs and materials used in optical amplifiers.

Skills

• Curiosity and initiative in exploring fiber optics and materials science.
• Ability to manage development or research projects from concept through execution.
• Strong analytical and experimental skills.

Education

• PhD in a relevant field is expected.

Tools

• Familiarity with simulation tools such as COMSOL and state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.
