Senior Operational Technology Architect (Renewable Energy, Hybrid)

Job summary

This role involves defining, governing, and evolving the operational technology (OT) architecture within a renewable energy portfolio, focusing on SCADA and automation systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in OT architecture, particularly in renewable energy and SCADA systems.
• Proven track record as a senior technical lead or architect across multiple systems or projects.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Level 1 SCADA systems from major OEMs (Siemens, Vestas, GE, Nordex).
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (IEC 61850, OPC UA, Modbus) and OT cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce the OT architecture strategy for SCADA and automation systems.
• Establish reference architectures, standards, and design principles across all assets.
• Act as the technical escalation point for complex system and integration decisions.
• Guide and coach engineering teams to enhance technical solutions and design decisions.
• Lead the design and integration of Level 1 SCADA systems and support project teams with solution design and technical decision-making.
• Drive standardization and interoperability across multi-vendor SCADA platforms.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks (ISA‑95, IEC 62443).
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for engineers and stakeholders.
• Experience in driving standardization, governance, and cross-team alignment.

Education

• Relevant degree in engineering or a related field is typically expected.

• Familiarity with SCADA systems, industrial communication protocols, and cybersecurity measures is essential.
